Privacy Policy
This policy explains how OwnIt Health LLC ("OwnIt Health", "we") handles information you give us through ownithealthcare.com and the OwnIt app at app.ownithealthcare.com. Your health information is also protected by federal law (HIPAA); how we use and share it is described in our Notice of Privacy Practices, which controls if the two ever differ.
What we collect
- When you sign up: your name, date of birth, sex, email address and phone number, which become part of your medical record.
- When you use the app: what you choose to give us — consent forms, health questionnaires, messages to your care team, a photo of your government-issued ID so we can confirm who we are seeing, and information shared during visits.
- Payments: card payments are handled by Stripe. We receive confirmation of payment, never your full card number.
- Technical: a single sign-in cookie that keeps you logged in. We do not use advertising cookies, analytics tools, tracking pixels or third-party scripts on this website or in the app.
How we use it
To provide your care, schedule and run your visits, send you the reminders you ask for, bill for services, meet our legal obligations and keep our systems secure. We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising.
Who we share it with
Only as described in our Notice of Privacy Practices — for example, a pharmacy that fills your prescription, a lab processing your test, or a service provider that helps us operate (such as our hosting, email or fax provider) under a written agreement that requires it to protect your information.
Text messages
If you opt in to appointment texts, we use your mobile number only to send them (see our SMS Terms). No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text-message opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties. Texts contain no medical details. Reply STOP to stop at any time.
Where it is kept and how it is protected
Your information is stored in the United States on servers the practice controls, encrypted in transit and at rest, with access limited to your care team and the staff who need it. Every access to your medical record is logged. Video visits are never recorded.
Your choices
You can ask for a copy of your record, ask us to correct it, turn text reminders on or off in the app, or ask us any question about your information. Contact our Privacy Officer at admin@ehr.ownithealthcare.com or 302-615-6105.
Children
We see patients aged 13 and over. This website is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will post the new version here with a new effective date.
